Step into a vibrant world where color speaks, stories breathe, and creativity becomes a catalyst for change. The Abstract in Color Collection is a celebration of artistic expression rooted in resilience, identity, and community. Curated by Wisdom Born Designs, each piece is more than artâitâs a conversation, a movement, and a mirror of the soul. Whether you’re an artist, educator, student, or supporter of the arts, I invite you to explore, reflect, and be inspired by the power of color and the wisdom it carries.
Welcome to a space where every canvas speaks.
Purpose & Vision
The Abstract in Color Collection exists to honor the power of visual storytelling as a tool for liberation, education, and cultural preservation. Rooted in the intersection of the graffiti element of Hip Hop Culture, African abstract art, and minimalist expression, this collection represents a bold reimagining of what art can doâhow it can speak, heal, and build bridges across communities.
At its core, this work is about amplifying voicesâespecially those often marginalized or overlooked. Through vibrant color, geometric form, and intentional simplicity, the collection invites viewers to engage with themes of identity, resilience, and justice.
This vision aligns with the broader mission of Wisdom Born Designs: to integrate arts, education, and advocacy in ways that empower individuals and transform communities. Abstract in Color is not just a collectionâitâs a movement, a curriculum, and a call to action.
Artist Statement

The Abstract in Color Collection is a reflection of my journey as an artist, educator, and advocate. Each piece is guided by the principle that less is moreâwhere simplicity becomes a gateway to complexity, and minimalism meets abstraction to evoke emotion, provoke thought, and invite interpretation.
My work draws inspiration from the graffiti element of Hip Hop culture, especially the expressive use of white lines that echo movement, rhythm, and rebellion. Itâs also deeply influenced by African abstract art, where bold color combinations and geometric patterns speak to heritage, symbolism, and ancestral memory.
This collection features a dynamic interplay of geometric forms, organic shapes, and intentional negative space, often contrasted with vibrant color fields and intricate linework. The juxtaposition of structured patterns with fluid motion invites viewers to explore themes of identity, liberation, and healing.
Art is my language. Color is my voice. Through every stroke, I speak truth, build bridges, and imagine freedom – Benu Ma’at, Creative Director/Principal Artist, Wisdom Born Designs
